This Privacy Policy describes how Lyfsoft Technologies (“LyfHost”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects your information when you visit lyfhost.in, register an account, purchase hosting, domains or SSL certificates, or otherwise interact with our services. By using LyfHost, you agree to the practices described below.
We are committed to handling your data lawfully, transparently and only for the purposes set out here. This policy is designed to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to provide and improve our services. This falls into a few broad categories:
- Account & identity data, such as your name, email address, phone number, billing address and company name when you create an account or place an order.
- Billing & payment data, including invoices, tax identifiers (such as GST number) and transaction records. Card and bank details are processed directly by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment partners; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Domain & registration data, meaning registrant details required by domain registries (ICANN, NIXI and others), which may be subject to WHOIS publication unless privacy protection is enabled.
- Technical & usage data, such as IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring pages and timestamps, collected automatically through logs and cookies.
- Support & communications data, like the contents of tickets, live-chat conversations, emails and call records when you contact our team.
- Content you host. Files, databases and emails you store on our infrastructure remain your property; we access them only as needed to operate, secure or restore the service, or when legally required.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for clearly defined, legitimate purposes, including:
- To set up, provision and maintain your hosting, domains, SSL and related services.
- To process payments, issue invoices and manage renewals.
- To provide technical support, respond to your enquiries and perform free migrations.
- To monitor performance, prevent abuse and protect our network from fraud, spam and security threats.
- To send essential service notices, including outages, maintenance windows, expiry and renewal reminders, and policy updates.
- To send marketing communications where you have opted in; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To comply with our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Cookies & Tracking
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to make LyfHost work properly and to understand how it is used. The cookies we rely on fall into these groups:
- Essential cookies are required to keep you logged in, secure your session and remember your cart. These cannot be switched off.
- Preference cookies remember choices such as language, currency and billing period.
- Analytics cookies help us measure traffic and improve the site, using privacy-respecting analytics.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of your account and the checkout from functioning correctly.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Tier-III/IV data centers protected by physical access controls, 24/7 monitoring and redundant power and networking. We apply industry-standard safeguards to keep it secure, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) across all services and account areas.
- Encryption at rest for sensitive datasets and automated, isolated backups.
- Firewalls, intrusion detection, malware scanning and DDoS mitigation at the network edge.
- Role-based access controls, so only authorised staff can access systems on a need-to-know basis.
No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and will notify affected users and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by law.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We share personal data only when necessary, and only with parties bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
- Service providers, such as payment processors, domain registries/registrars, SSL certificate authorities and infrastructure partners who help us deliver the service.
- Legal & regulatory bodies, when required by valid legal process, to comply with the law, or to protect our rights, users and systems from harm.
- Business transfers. If LyfHost is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, data may be transferred under the same protections described in this policy.
6. Your Rights (GDPR / Indian DPDP)
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. We honour the following for all users:
- Access, so you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction, to ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Erasure, to request deletion of your data, subject to our legal and contractual retention duties.
- Portability, so you can receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection & restriction, letting you opt out of marketing and limit certain processing.
- Withdraw consent, so you can withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting prior processing.
- Grievance redressal, to raise a complaint with our Data Protection Officer, and, where applicable, with the Data Protection Board of India or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@lyfhost.in. We will respond within the timelines required by law.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. In practice this means:
- Account and billing records are retained for the duration of your relationship with us and for the period required for tax, accounting and legal compliance.
- Domain registration data is retained as mandated by the relevant registry.
- Support records are retained to help us resolve recurring issues and improve quality.
- When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
8. Third-Party Services
LyfHost integrates with trusted third parties to deliver certain features, for example, payment gateways, domain registries, SSL authorities, content delivery and analytics providers. These parties process data under their own privacy policies and only for the purposes we contract them for. Our website may also link to external sites we do not control; we encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any information.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal obligations. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through your account dashboard. Your continued use of LyfHost after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
